What is TOEFL®?
The TOEFL® (Test Of English as a Foreign Language) test is to evaluate the English proficiency of people whose native language is not English. The TOEFL iBT® (Internet based test) is the newest version of ETS®'s English proficiency test designed to assess English-language skills in academic settings. ETS® has made several changes, with the aim of making TOEFL®, a more accurate gauge of English skills.
For the first time, the TOEFL® test integrates all four components of language skills - listening, reading, writing and speaking, to help learners build the skills and confidence needed to communicate effectively in academic environments. The new TOEFL® is delivered via the Internet, making it more accessible to candidates.
The TOEFL® test is accepted by more than 9000 colleges, universities, agencies and other institutions in more than 130 countries, including Australia, Canada, the U.K. and the United States. This makes TOEFL® test the most widely accepted English-language test in the world.
